to talk is to brag and inaction comes from fear (2026-W2)

I fell behind on writing these up because I’ve been under the weather, so I’m doing a quick list for this week.
- We have been watching a lot of Memoria’s backlog on YouTube. I also listened to some of her gl;hf podcast while doing chores. I’m not usually one for idle chat podcasts, but I think she’s funny.
- I went back to work and it was OK. Lots of ups and downs. Mostly I just feel exhausted.
- I ran for the first time in about a month this week. My Sunday run buddy and I fell off our schedule because of the holidays. We went to an indoor track at a fitness center I’ve never been to that was really nice, but it was a ways away and the membership fees are high.
- I’m into season four of Community and have fallen off of it. I still don’t think there was a tremendous drop off in quality from season three to four — I thought the show was already floundering — but fatigue has set in. Also I think Brita and Troy dating is stupid.
- I felt compelled to watch Survivor again and picked the ridiculous trainwreck season, Gabon, to rewatch. It still rocks.
- I played a lot of Picross on my Switch.
- I’m still reading Villette. I’m making (slow) progress now that I’m back at school.
- I really liked Steph Vee’s post Delete Spotify? Sure, But Don’t Just Replace it With Another Subscription. I’ve seen a lot of folks rightfully moving off Spotify then jumping to Apple Music, YouTube, or Qobuz. The latter specifically is more ethical than the others, but it’s still renting media from a giant corporation that doesn’t give a shit about you rather than directly supporting artists. There’s a better way.
- mothcub, who I have followed on tumblr for a long time, encouraged folks to start blogging, which of course I’m here for. I don’t love Blogspot as the platform of choice (because I’m a snob and fuck Google — for anyone reading this, there are easy, free/cheap alternatives like Pika or Bearblog), but I love that they’ve used their minor internet fame to get people interacting with the small web rather than feeding the corporate social media machine.
No playlist this week because I’ve mostly been listening to shuffles and my New Years playlist from last week.
